It was one of the closest high school football games I've ever witnessed. Both teams played like champions. Glades Day sophomore Kelvin Taylor ran for 437 yards and five touchdowns. A Thanksgiving Day rampage left four of their family members dead and two more wounded, but no trial date has been set in the death penalty case against Paul Michael Merhige. When asked how he felt about the possibility of their yard being filled with media trucks on the anniversary of their daughter's death, Jim said, "The only thing worse than the media caring about your story is no one caring about your story."

The Sitton's are unbelievably kind, and the love in their family can be felt even to strangers.

This isn't something I would normally post here, but I wanted to share a couple awesome experiences with my fellow photographers. I recently had to find somewhere to print a large panoramic photo for a friend of mine. I found a place in California called Ookiimage. It was easy to order, reasonably priced and fast. I couldn't find any reviews or testimonials online so I thought I would put one out there. The print was beautiful. I would definitely use Ookiimage again!
I also have to give a shout-out to Morton Grove, Illinois, where Nikon Camera Repair fixed my broken 80-200 and had it back to me in a total of FOUR DAYS. If you've ever had to have a lens or camera repaired, you know how agonizing everyday without it is. Especially as a freelancer. I wish I could say I hope I never see them again, unfortunately, I'm clumsy and accident-prone. I'm sure I'll be using them again in the very near future.

It's been a loud summer.

After my first week as a Pulliam Fellow at the Indy Star, I'm in trouble. I'm in love with this paper, this town and definitely the photo staff. I'll be bawling like a baby when I have to leave at the end of the summer. Here's a pic from my one of my favorite assignments so far, Dance Dance, Party Party. It's an hour-long fitness workout that consists only of awesome women dancing as silly, energetic and fun as you can. I highly recommend it.
